Has it really been five years since Fortnite launched its battle royale mode?It may be hard to believe, but yes – it may seem like an instant has passed, but it’s true Have Have enjoyed it for five years.Therefore, Epic decided to throw a 5th birthday celebration Filled with fun activities, special quests, and even some birthday cakes to eat! We have everything you need to know about the festivities here.
5th birthday celebration start and end times
The 5th birthday celebration will begin on September 23rd at 6AM PT / 9AM ET and will continue until September 27th at 6AM PT / 9AM ET.
Birthday present, birthday cake and balloons
Not only does the battle bus get a birthday makeover during the festivities, but you also get some cool stuff on the ground. As you explore the map, you can find birthday gifts that you can open to get premium loot and some birthday cakes that you can eat to restore your health.
Meanwhile, balloons are making a comeback during the 5th birthday celebration. These fan-favorite items are fun to use, allow you to jump higher, fall slower, and negate fall damage when inflated. You can inflate up to three at a time, which will float you upward until you let go or are shot out of the sky. Just make sure no enemy team pops you out of the sky like a carnival game.
Birthday Bling Birthday Tasks
During the birthday celebration, you need to complete some tasks. Doing so will earn you three unique cosmetic items, which we’ve listed below.
- Fuzzfetti cake with bling on the back
- Celebrating Slicing Picks
- Glitter cake emoticon
In addition to all the new stuff to check out, you can also do some composition. During the festivities, Epic wants players to celebrate birthdays by snapping birthday-themed photos in-game—whether it’s Fortnite’s or their own.
If you want to be a part of the fun, post your celebration photos to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, using the hashtag #FNBR5 or posting to r/Fortnite BR Has a talent for Fortography. The team at Epic will be highlighting some of their favorite screenshots in a blog post on October 7th, so maybe you’ll see your good time!
