Destiny 2 PSA: Play Master Ketchcrash To Complete This Week’s Tough Champion Requirement

Destiny 2’s Plunder Season has seen each chapter in its space story unfold fairly quickly, with minimal polishing required to unlock new content chapters. This week is different, as unlocking the newest chapter of the pirate-themed season will require defeating not only some of the game’s strongest enemies, but a staggering number of them at first glance.

The good news is that you don’t have to beat 50 champions, as the Season of Plunder event counts each of these deadly bosses as a multiple kill. In Expeditions, every champion is worth three kills, and if you’re eager to see how Eido is doing this week, you can take part in the Master Ketchcrash event, which counts every champion defeated as eight kills.

Master Ketchcrash is also full of champions, so you’ll run into them more often here. Keep in mind that matchmaking is closed for this particular event, so you’ll need to find a group to play with to help you quickly complete this week’s requirements. Champions are one of the most challenging enemies in Destiny 2 and usually come in three forms; Overload, Unstoppable, and Obstacle.

Overload heroes teleport around you and instantly recover from damage, barrier heroes pop up a nearly indestructible shield, and unstoppable heroes combine bullet sponge properties with high damage attacks. The only way to spoil heroes is to include a seasonal mod that allows certain weapons to properly damage them, which can be obtained by upgrading your seasonal artifact. For the Plunder season, that means you’ll need to equip Barrier Champions with automatic rifles, Unstoppable Champions with shotguns, and Overload Champions with machine guns.

Certain Arc subclass abilities can also be enhanced this season for added punch, and if your primary guardian is a titan, there’s a solar build that uses dedication to melt champions to slag.
