Ana De Armas Opens Up About The Challenges Of Playing Marilyn Monroe In NC-17 Netflix Movie Blonde

Ana de Armas’ new profile (Knives Out, Blade Runner 2049) about her role as Mary in Netflix’s recently released NC-17 film Blonde Lian Monroe’s journey, type Wrote about the tough challenges the actor faced to convince the streaming service she could play the iconic and troubled model-actress. de Armas spoke to Variety about her hard time working on the film, whose production began in August 2019 and stretched until July 2021 due to the pandemic. Monroe begged her husband, Joe DiMaggio, to let her move to New York so she could start over and get away from the scenes of Hollywood life — asking De Armas to evoke all of Monroe’s passion and desperation once and for all.
“It’s getting worse — it keeps reminding me that I’m not good enough,” De Armas said. “No matter what I say or say, it’s still not good enough. And I’m not going to be accepted for it.”
