Apple’s CarPlay is still frustratingly basic.
Stephen Hackett 512 pixels He blogged about his frustration with migrating to a new iPhone and not keeping his CarPlay preferences, even though all the other apps on his phone copied correctly.
I agree with him, but his emphasis on the second point annoys me even more: CarPlay still treats each car you connect to as something different. Instead of retaining your preferences when you plug in a different car, it lets you reset it for each new car. This is annoying for families with more than one car; it’s downright maddening for users who frequently rent a car. Seems like an easy thing to fix!
